For Families

Married couples and their families

Sherwood Cliffs aims to provide a rehabilitation program for married couples and their family.  Participating as a couple provides a unique opportunity for added focus on personal relationships, growth as a couple and provides a greater understanding of the areas in which their spouse may be struggling.  It can be a time of discovery as each person is able to view their world and their partner with new perspective and without the previous pressures that surrounded them.

Single Mother’s with their children

Sherwood Glen aims to provide a rehabilitation program for single mother’s with their children in their care.  Participating as a family provides a unique opportunity for added focus on the qualities, needs and the uniqueness of each child.  This quality time in a supported environment of love  has the power to re-establish bonds formed in the womb and set a foundation for their lives ahead.  It can be a memorable and precious time for both the mother and the child as each person is able to view their world and the other precious person/people in their life with new perspective without the previous pressures and distractions that surrounded them.

Children

Sherwood Christian Rehab Centre Inc. is a child-safe organisation which aims to provide a protected, positive and supportive environment for both the child and parents, where each parent has the opportunity to be guided and educated in good parenting practices.  Family life and parenting skills are areas discussed, education given and practical outworking modelled within the community.  Information regarding child development parenting skills, healthy lifestyles and schooling expectations are available for all parents or prospective parents.

Within the program, the physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs of each child is of high importance.  We believe that it is critically important that children are provided with a safe environment to grow up in and be a part of.

Sherwood welcomes married couples and single mothers to bring their children aged from birth to ten years with them to our rehabilitation program.  The needs of each applicant and the accompanying children are assessed on an individual basis prior to acceptance into the program.

Pregnant

If you are struggling with addiction and are pregnant we welcome you to apply for our program.  However, in light of the physical isolation of the Sherwood centres and the associated difficulties accessing routine and emergency medical care, if you are advanced in your pregnancy (post 30 weeks) we encourage you to talk to us about the possibility of delaying your rehab until your baby is minimum of 2 weeks old.
